Original full red morocco richly gilt: broad ornamental border, central gilt armorial device to both boards, gilt compartments to spine, all edges gilt. Marbled endpapers.
Condition: sound text block. spine with losses at head/foot and rubbing to bands, corners worn, boards rubbed; internally clean and crisp with strong impressions and minimal spotting. A handsome 19th-century altar missal from the renowned Pustet press, papal printers of liturgical books, in an ornate binding. Carmelite-use copies are notably scarcer than standard Roman editions.
