Rare mid-19th-century Greek Bible containing both the Old and New Testament, printed in Oxford for the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS). The title page notes supervision by Thomas Combe and states that the text is rendered “from the archetypes” (ἐκ τῶν ἀρχετύπων), reflecting the traditional Koine/Septuagint and New Testament Greek text widely used in the Orthodox world during the 19th century.
This is a solid example of BFBS missionary/educational printing in Greek, produced for distribution across Greek-speaking communities.
