A diplomatic greeting card issued by the British Embassy in Athens, featuring the British royal coat of arms on the cover and an interior photographic view of an ancient Greek monument.
The inside bears the printed greeting:
“With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year”
together with a handwritten inscription reading “British Military Attaché” and the handwritten date “Christmas 1953”.
Such cards were typically exchanged among diplomats, military officials, embassy staff and governmental contacts during the early Cold War period, shortly after Greece joined NATO (1952).
