Original holiday greeting brochure issued by Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) in Athens, December 1958 – January 1959. The illustrated leaflet wishes “Merry Christmas & Happy New Year” and promotes SAS intercontinental services.

It advertises DC-7C flights from Athens to New York and Los Angeles, as well as routes to the Far East, Africa, Zurich, Geneva, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Scandinavia. It also announces the upcoming introduction of the Caravelle jet aircraft in Greece in spring 1959.

Issued by the XX Armored Division (20th Armored Division) and signed by Brigadier General (Ταξίαρχος) L. Korakas, the division’s commanding officer at the time.

The card features the printed official insignia of the Division (charging soldier over an armored tank), and contains the full handwritten text of the wishes, including date and personal signature.

Official Greek Armed Forces Sports Council (A.S.A.E.D.) Christmas & New Year greeting card, dating from the 1960s–early 1970s.

The front cover features the classical Discobolus statue, symbol of ancient Greek athletics. Inside, a color photograph shows the Olympic Flame lighting ceremony at Ancient Olympia, accompanied by the official emblem of A.S.A.E.D., founded in 1947 (as indicated on the crest).

These cards were issued in limited quantities by the Hellenic Armed Forces for high-ranking officers, foreign delegations, and athletic organizations participating in military sports activities.
Signed in print by Dimitrios Palaiologos, General Secretary of A.S.A.E.D. during this period.

The text describes departure from Piraeus at 7 a.m., with meals served onboard (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and live orchestra, presenting a refined social outing aimed at an urban Athenian audience. The invitation is written in formal katharevousa Greek and addressed personally (“Αγαπητέ Φίλε”).

Based on typography, language, layout, and the six-digit Athens telephone number, the piece can be confidently dated on mid-1960’s.
