“Photographie von Samuel Herter, Johannis-Neu-Gasse, No. 643, Kronstadt.”
This indicates it was taken by Samuel Herter, a photographer based in Kronstadt (now Brașov, Romania), which was historically a multicultural hub with German, Hungarian, and Romanian communities.

The handwritten names at the top—Wotti, Grese, Constantinides—likely refer to the children’s names or family names.

The German inscription at the bottom says:
“Nachbestellungen werden selbst nach Jahren übernommen.”
Translation: “Reorders can be made even after many years.”
This was a common note by photographers offering reprints of photos from their negatives.

Complete antiquarian volume devoted to Ancient Greece, containing 113 single-leaf engraved plates and 2 large folding maps of Greece by T. Duvotenay.

The engravings illustrate a wide range of subjects related to classical antiquity, including ancient temples, architectural details, archaeological sites, monuments, landscapes, mythological and historical figures, as well as views of significant locations in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The plates were executed by prominent Italian engravers of the late 18th – early 19th century, among them Salimbeni, Butasson, Lazzari, Tiozzo, Podestà, Bosa, Simonetti, Zuliani, Dal Pozzo, and Musitelli.
The maps and plates are finely engraved and reflect the scholarly and artistic interest in classical antiquity characteristic of the period.

Condition:
The volume is complete with all plates and both folding maps present. The engravings are generally clean, with light age toning and minor spotting consistent with age. The original binding is worn, with wear to spine and covers and some separation; the book would benefit from professional rebinding. Sold as is, complete.

Early Asterix Greek editions by Tasos Psaropoulos are far scarcer than the common Mamouth editions.

Good: A book that has been read but is in good condition. Very minimal damage to the cover including scuff marks, but no holes or tears. The dust jacket for hard covers may not be included. Binding has minimal wear. The majority of pages are undamaged with minimal creasing or tearing, minimal pencil underlining of text, no highlighting of text, no writing in margins. No missing pages.
