Original Greek municipal election ballot issued for the city of Piraeus, dating to the late 19th century (circa 1895–1900).

The ballot lists Τρύφων Μουτζόπουλος as candidate for Mayor of Piraeus, along with candidates for parédrioi (ward representatives) and a full slate of municipal councilors.

This election document dates to Moutzopoulos’ second mayoral period (1895–1903), during which he served as one of the longest-tenured mayors in the history of Piraeus.

Printed in Greek with period typography and decorative elements, this is an authentic piece of Greek political ephemera from the late 19th century.

An early-20th-century biblical picture book published by Ernest Nister, one of the finest makers of Victorian and Edwardian illustrated children’s books. Beautiful full-color chromolithograph plates accompany simplified retellings of well-known parables such as The Labourers in the Vineyard and The Sower.

This edition is marked “UNTEARABLE,” referring to the special reinforced paper used in Nister’s children’s books of the period. Numbered 2506a on the front cover. Printed in Bavaria, as were almost all Nister productions of this era.

Good vintage condition.
