The sheet features a finely printed portrait of a French officer of the Chasseurs, accompanied by a printed narrative praising the endurance and discipline of the 1er Bataillon de Chasseurs, describing a forced march of 112 kilometers completed in 39 hours.
Such printed testimonial sheets were created to record and celebrate notable military achievements and were often preserved in private or institutional collections.
The sheet bears a circular ownership stamp from the “Aristophonos Library”, indicating provenance from a private historical collection.
