The document represents an official certification and bears a later consular legalisation by the Imperial German General Consulate in Athens, dated September 22, 1909.

The consular validation is signed i.V. (in Vertretung / on behalf of), indicating execution on behalf of the Consul General. The signature is attributed to the German diplomat von Riepenhausen, who served in Athens during this period.
