Original handwritten personal letter dated 19 July 1934, written by a Greek Navy officer (Πλωτάρχης Γκιόκας) to his landlady.

In the letter, the officer explains that he must depart for naval military exercises (“γυμνάσια”) and is therefore unable to continue renting his room.

Good for age. Toning, folds, small edge wear, but fully legible and complete. No major tears. Exactly as photographed.

The letter is addressed to Mrs. Nelly Evelpidi and thanks her for her participation in the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatoire during a major concert held at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

  • the Welfare Fund of the Symphony Orchestra members

  • the “Musician’s House” of the Panhellenic Musicians’ Association

The document is hand-signed by the director of the Conservatoire, Filoktitis Oikonomidis, an important figure in Greek musical life of the interwar period.

Official ministerial document dated January 31, 1940, issued by the same ministry, regarding the composition and functioning of the Advisory Council of Tourism.
 The document also refers to ELPA (Hellenic Touring Club), an important institution in the history of Greek tourism.
